Test/Experiment/Analysis System: Optical Power Logger
Easy data storage and management! Record characteristics under various conditions while using environmental testing equipment and more.
The "Optical Power Logger" is a system that automatically measures the attenuation of optical cables. As background, we were considering the introduction of an automation system and the construction of a robust system that can operate 24 hours a day, using the measuring equipment we already own without purchasing new facilities. This system combines an optical power meter with a multi-channel multiplexer to record the characteristics of optical cables over long periods, while simultaneously recording the temperature of the test environment using a thermometer. By preparing two sets of measuring devices, it is possible to operate under two different conditions (test environments), allowing for the recording of characteristics under various situations while also using environmental testing machines. 【Benefits of Implementation】 <Improvement of Work Efficiency> ■ The adoption of FA computers allows for safe continuous operation over long periods. ■ Since it is automatically operated by software, daily checks can be reduced to about one or two times, contributing to a reduction in man-hours. ■ Numerical records are stored as electronic data, enabling accurate comparisons and judgments with digital values. ■ The shift to paperless recording through electronic data makes data storage and management easier. ■ Further software customization allows for the expansion of various functions. *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us.
